Make the Most Out of Your LinkedIn Account

As a business owner, you continuously strive to expand your marketing reach. With the various social networking sites out there, you may be wondering how you can utilize them to improve your website traffic, and ultimately, generate more leads or sales.

The popularity of LinkedIn is continuously growing all over the world and is attracting more and more individuals and businesses. As of July 2021, LinkedIn boasted over 740 million users worldwide.  It’s 100% worth having a solid presence on this network. Below are a few tips to optimize your LinkedIn profile for businesses.

1. Show What You’ve Got

This is the most important part of any LinkedIn profile. First, you should completely fill in your basic information and then update it regularly. This is the basis on which your profile will be viewed by others and will become the hub of all of your activities. It would also help you to connect to people in your network that share common interests. This is how you will be found on LinkedIn by other professionals and businesses.

If you get this part right, then people can have an insight about you, what you do and how you do it. Often LinkedIn profiles come up at the top result in Google searches against a person’s name, so it’s very important that your profile is updated.

2. Keyword Sprinkle Your Profile

When you’re creating your LinkedIn profile, it’s important that your focus is around utilizing your most important and relevant keywords for your business website. This will make sure that your profile is found when someone is using those keywords.Try to keep your profile rich with powerful and relevant keywords and avoid keyword stuffing.

One of the most important aspects of optimizing your LinkedIn profile includes your professional headline, which will be discussed in detail in the next paragraphs.

3. Be Imaginative With Your Professional Headline

Whatever is written in your professional headline is very crucial. It should sound like a market slogan, rather than a job title. There are about 120 characters to fill out, which makes 20 words. Make sure you use most of these 20 words. Your professional headline should also include the keywords that you want to be searched against. You should be as specific as you can because this is what people will see on LinkedIn.

4. Include Your Profile Picture

They say that a picture is worth 1000 words. This is the best way to get noticed, and for obvious reasons: people want to know whose profile they are viewing. The whole purpose of using LinkedIn is to get found, and a profile picture makes it easier for people to find you. Your friends, colleagues, peers, and employers can easily find you. It will leave a positive impression on the person viewing your profile.

5. Customize Your Profile URL

Don’t settle for a default LinkedIn URL. Customize it as your name, your company name, or even your website address. This makes it easier for people to find you and also gives a unique touch to your profile. This will increase the overall visibility of your LinkedIn profile and will ultimately improve the SEO of your business website as it will help Google to show your site in the Google search list.
